[This] is a spellbinding little gem, more a prose poem or a piece or re-imagined folklore than a simple short story. It’s very tricky to pull of a story in this day and age without any dialogue at all, but the narrative voice is so compelling and descriptive that you hardly notice. Actually, the entire piece is like a monologue, as the narrator broods over the lure of the sea and takes her first steps towards its icy embrace. […] Beautiful writing throughout and a piece that seems alive in every sense of the word. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
